MK Husband's Testimonies

Peter-
I have been in a Mary Kay family practically my entire life. So to ask me what the ‘Mary Kay Way’ is all about, I would simply say, “building others to achieve greatness". The people we come across in our daily lives can come from all walks-of-life with many different life experiences. Since we can't experience every life journey, Mary Kay stresses we build relationships with people that share similar experiences as well as other that journeyed down a completely different road. Of course the end result is to shape and mold those experiences into healthy and prosperous relationships.  The relationships that Amie and I have shared in her business have been life changing. We get to expand our group of best friends every year by sharing Mary Kay's dream of enriching lives and making lasting memories. Mary Kay provides us the means of controlling and shaping our own destiny through healthy choices and financial independence.  The eleven years of Amie's business have provided us a full spectrum of multiple starting points and fruit from great success. We have enjoyed the many pleasures of traveling to first class resorts, diamond star and cash prizes, as well as the famous pink Cadillac. Spending vacation time every year with our Mary Kay Corporate staff and top director friends provides us the drive to keep the dream alive.

But there is nothing that means more to us than the incredible 'Victory Unit' women that have made our life possible. As I watch the unit interact at seminar and events in Omaha, I couldn't be more proud of the women that you are today and the businesses you are building.  You truly stand apart from other units and lead by example that Mary Kay would be proud to call her own.

Jeff-
When Stacey first told me she was considering joining Mary Kay, I, like many husbands, was skeptical. Plus, I’m a journalist by trade, so my mind is naturally suspicious. However, I also knew that Stacey was smart—not just in terms of her education, but also common sense. Plus, I knew she was worn out and exhausted from her job at the school with no opportunities to ever make more than an average salary.

So I didn’t completely dismiss her desire to join Mary Kay and I gave the business plan a listen.

And what I learned opened my mind, and my heart. Here was not only one of the most impressive companies I’d ever heard of—the business plan of which has been studies at major universities around the country—but Mary Kay was also a company that enriched women’s lives, empowered women and their families. I was especially impressed that Mary Kay empowers women in other countries where, perhaps, they wouldn’t have any other means to become independent. And where else could you find a major company that not only allowed one to express her spiritual beliefs, but it was encouraged? And if that wasn’t wonderful enough, I saw in Stacey such a transformation as she
began to spend time around Amie and all the other wonderful women of Mary Kay. Instead of exhausted by her Mary Kay work, Stacey was energized and uplifted. And when she hit a bump in the road, she became stronger and even more inspired to do great things. I also saw someone who just a few years ago was hesitant to tell others, especially other potential consultants, that she sold Mary Kay. Now, however, she doesn’t hold back as she wants to share her enthusiasm with others.

And there’s more! She was able to leave her job at the school and replace her income. All by doing something that she truly loves, a career that inspires her and everyone around her!

Especially me.

Keith-
Before the first MK appointment Kendra went to, I immediately thought of the classic pink make-up containers that my mom has used for 30+ years and I thought, “seems like old lady stuff and why would Kendra want to use that”?  But Kendra looked great when she came home from that first appointment to experience MK’s new mineral foundations, and she was all jazzed up about the “opportunity” and I knew what was coming so I braced myself.  Kendra explained to me how much they’ve changed in the past couple years to update their image, then she told me she wanted to SELL it!!! I knew it!  This wasn’t the first time Kendra tried a home-based business (first it was candles, then toys), but I said “This is a business I could actually support you in”, and the rest is history.  All she needed was affirmation from me that I would support her decision to sell Mary Kay.

Kendra has a completely new outlook on life.  She is constantly energized by the Success Meetings, and she truly loves the positivity that she receives and is able to give back to her clients.  The income from sales is a bonus to the fun she has making other women look beautiful on the outside, and feel beautiful on inside.

I see Kendra’s confidence improve continually, her leadership skills developing, and her ability to provide income for our family to enjoy a few extra perks in life along the way.

When Buffi became pregnant with our oldest daughter 7 years ago she could not bring herself to go back to work.  Her only goal was to be able to stay home and be with our children.  Our daughter is now in kindergarten and the youngest is 2.  When I leave for work in the morning they are going through their morning routine, breakfast and snuggling in the chair watching Mickey Mouse.  Neither child has ever been to daycare.  Neither child has ever been rushed out of the house at 6:30 in the morning in the cold because we are both going to work.  God has blessed our family and provided that oppurtunity to work from home and set her own schedule through Mary Kay.

Buffi has also become a completely different person since beginning her career.  She displays a confidence I had not seen in her prior to this career.  She enjoys her work and the people she develops relationships with during her work.  This career requires discipline, hard work, and drive just like any other but if you are willing to put in the time with God's blessings it can provide a life few other career paths can.
